Dear Colleagues:
The actual teaching of classical dance is no longer mysterious and it actually gives the student the best chance at succeeding.
When teaching method is applied correctly, there are also absolutely NO INJURIES. Being absolutely open minded,
these are the wonderful aspects of teaching method that attracted me to learn about it. It offers a clear, precise, "not one whit arbritary"
approach to teaching that has produced the greatest dancers of all time. Sure, there are many ways to teach but these ways are referring
to each individual teacher's style and not the knowledge of teaching method. There is only one teaching method of classical dance.
When applied properly, the results are guaranteed. There is no other method that does this over and over again, with complete success, than
the teaching method of classical dance. The audience does not need to know what actually went in to the making of a dancer. This is not their
concern. When they attend a performance of classical ballet, it should look magical and be a mystery to them. If the performance does not give
the appearance of being effortless, then the aura and magic is gone, destroyed and it is no longer an art.
Let me teach you how to teach. But, if you attend one of my courses, you will have to realize that you are going back to school to learn how to
teach and it will be a lot of hard work. You will learn how to prepare lesson plans. You will learn everything you need to know and how to do it.
My teacher's courses are not for the lazy, just like the study of classical dance is not for the lame, or weak of spirit. It is a very demanding art
and the teaching method will give you what you need to be able to help every student in your class, not only the physically gifted. Many times a
student's gift is not even discovered until their third year of schooling, so teaching method gives those individuals a chance to be seen.
There are eight years for the study of classical dance. I recommend that you attend the Beginning Course which covers the first three years of
the eight year program for classical dance. The material learned in this course is the foundation for the intermediate work. I look forward to
meeting you and helping you in your classical dance studies. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. Also, I am giving
teacher's courses now in different parts of the country. If you are interested in hosting a teacher's course for teachers in your area, please let
me know so that I can plan ahead with you.
Sincerely,
Peggy Willis-Aarnio, Ph.D.
